Mumbai, May 10: Stories from the golden era of Hindi cinema continue to captivate audiences, and one such delightful anecdote involves the late actor Shammi Kapoor, shared by Dharmendra during the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol 13’. This video has resurfaced on social media, sparking renewed interest.
Dharmendra recounted that Shammi Kapoor was quite the food enthusiast. One day, he prepared a rather unusual breakfast for him, consisting of eggs and brandy.
According to Dharmendra, he was on his way to shoot with actress Nutan in Srinagar and was in a rush to leave early in the morning when he encountered Shammi Kapoor, who greeted him with his characteristic warmth and respect.
Reflecting on the moment, Dharmendra said, “At that time, Shammi Kapoor asked me if I had breakfast. I replied that I had already eaten. However, instead of accepting my answer, he insisted that I have breakfast again. I was puzzled about what he was going to serve me.”
He continued, “Shammi Kapoor took a glass, broke two eggs into it, and then added a splash of brandy. He presented this mixture to me as breakfast. His style was unique, and he lived life on his own terms.”
