Narayanpur (Chhattisgarh) : In an encounter that lasted for hours today in the Gobel jungle on the border of Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bastar districts of Chhattisgarh, security forces have killed five uniformed Naxalites.
The bodies and weapons of all the 5 killed Naxalites have also been recovered. In this encounter, 3 jawans of Narayanpur DRG were also injured. The condition of the injured jawans is normal and out of danger.

The jawans involved in the encounter claim that a large number of Naxalites were injured in the encounter. The encounter has been confirmed by Bastar IG Sundarraaj P. He said that detailed information about the encounter will be released in detail after the return of the jawans.
According to the police, they had received information that a large number of Naxalites were present in the jungle of Mungeli, Gobel village in the former Bastar division area. After this, a team of DRG and 45th Battalion ITBP from Dantewada, Narayanpur, Jagdalpur and Kondagaon districts was sent to the spot at night on June 6.
More than 1200 jawans were conducting a search operation in the area. On the morning of June 7, firing started between the police and the Naxalites. After this encounter that lasted for the whole day, the jawans have recovered the bodies and weapons of five Naxalites.
