There has been a perceptible increase in the rate of employment generation in the month of April this year as compared to March.
Using information on the number of subscribers who have availed benefits under three major schemes, the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPFO), Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESIC) and the National Pension Scheme (NPS).
The information, based on the number of subscribers tells that the new subscribers to the schemes increased from 4,80,749 in March 2018 to 6,85,841 in April 2018, signifying an increase of over 42% in a single month.
Overall 41,26,138 new jobs have been created since september 2017.
