




Udaipur : Four persons including a woman were killed when a truck laden with plastic ball bags overturned near Kherwada on the National Highway-8 on thursday early morning. The accident proved fatal for four persons who were standing at the roadside. As the truck overturned, the bags fell over three while one of the man got trapped under the heavy vehicle. Three motorcycles were damaged in the mishap.
People gathered in large number and removed the bags to pull out the victims. The rescue team was called which arrived immediately and moved the truck with the help of a crane however, all of them had died by then. The highway was jammed and commutation remained impeded for some time as vehicles lined up at both ends. Later police cleared the mess and reinstated the traffic.
” The accident took place a kilometer ahead of the toll plaza. The driver went on a high speed and lost control on the truck which overturned and the load fell on people standing on the roadside” SHO Kherwada RatanSIngh said. The victims were identified as Jamna (42)wo Rupa Meena, Vishnu Meena (23), Salman (22) so Abdul Kareem resident of Sawai Madhopur, Mintu Khan resident of Shivpuri MadhyaPradesh. Salman and Mintu Khan had come to sell blankets in Kherwada, police said. The bodies were taken for autopsy at the Kherwada hospital and given to their relatives. The truckdriver fled after the accident and a case has been taken against him for reckless driving.
