2 Accused Arrested in Attempted Murder of Liquor Trader in Kota

Jaipur, October 16 (Udaipur Kiran): The Kota police have arrested two prime accused in connection with the October 2 attack on local liquor trader Sandeep Solanki, who was critically injured after being shot and stabbed by assailants. The accused, identified as Manish Kumar Narwal (22) and Abdul Tausib alias Tosiba (19), both residents of Kaithoonipol, were carrying a cash reward of ₹25,000 each on their arrest.

Kota City Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said that on the morning of October 2, around 6:30 a.m., four men arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on Solanki, hitting him in the waist and legs. The attackers then beat him with fists and kicks before stabbing him in the thigh, causing serious injuries. Since the incident, special police teams had been tracking the accused.

Gang Rivalry Behind the Attack
The investigation revealed that the attack stemmed from an ongoing gang rivalry. The accused, Manish Narwal and Tosiba, had a long-standing dispute with Solanki’s nephew, Tushar. In 2024, Tushar was attacked with a knife, following which Solanki allegedly retaliated by attacking the homes of the accused’s friends and firing shots. The enmity between the two groups had been escalating since then.

Police said that in another incident on August 6 this year, Narwal, Tausib, and their associates attacked Solanki with swords, vandalised vehicles parked outside his house, and looted cash from his godown. Continuing this vendetta, they plotted to kill Solanki and carried out the October 2 assault.

During the attack, a minor accomplice living near Solanki’s house allegedly provided the accused with real-time updates on his movements through an Instagram call.

Caught After Jungle Chase
Based on a tip-off, a police team led by Station House Officer Pushpendra Bansiwal laid a trap on Rawatbhata Road late on Wednesday night (October 15). When the accused spotted the police, they tried to flee into the nearby forest on a motorcycle. However, they lost control on a dirt track, causing the vehicle to skid and both men to fall. They sustained injuries — Narwal suffered a leg fracture while Tausib received serious leg wounds. Both were taken to MBS Hospital and later arrested after treatment.

Police recovered empty cartridges, live bullets, and a broken knife from the spot. Two minors allegedly involved in the crime had already been detained earlier. The police are now questioning the arrested accused to recover the weapons and motorcycle used in the attack.
