Google CEO Sundar Pichai expressed his grief on X, stating that Susan Wojcicki was at the center of Google’s history. She was the woman who rented out a part of her garage to Google’s founders to set up their office. In nearly a decade, she transformed YouTube into the world’s largest video platform.
Pichai wrote in his post, “I’m incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of my dear friend Susan Wojcicki after a two-year battle with cancer. She was as important to the history of Google as anyone else, and it’s hard to imagine the world without her. She was an incredible person, leader, and friend who had a profound impact on the world. I’m one of countless Googlers who feel like a better person for having known her. We will miss her terribly. Our hearts go out to her family.”
