YouTube Music strives to improve the music experience for our users. The music streaming app is reportedly making live lyrics available to all Android and iOS users. This is similar to the live lyrics on Spotify when playing a song.
The YouTube Music feature was apparently first spotted in April, but is now generally available to users. However, live lyrics are not yet available for all songs.
A report by 9to5Google reveals that YouTube Music is rolling out a live lyrics feature for Android and iOS app users. The Live Lyrics feature highlights the currently playing lyrics in white and the rest in light grey.
To access live lyrics on YouTube Music, play a song with lyrics attached and go to the Lyrics tab on the Now Playing page. The report also adds that Live Lyrics will release YouTube Music version 6.15 on Android app and version 6.16 on iOS app. If users cannot access Live Lyrics, force quit the app by swiping from the current screen.
On the other hand, it also notes that the live lyrics feature is not yet enabled for all songs. So if users aren’t available yet, they might have to wait a little longer to access the live lyrics of their favorite songs.
The feature was first spotted in April this year and previous reports said it would significantly increase text size and spacing in live lyrics compared to the fixed lyrics currently available on YouTube Music.
Please remember The Live Lyrics feature was launched in June 2020 for Spotify in select countries including India. The company then expanded to additional markets by November 2021.
