WPL 2027 Teams Finalize Squads After Player Auction
The Women's Premier League 2027 squads are set following a dynamic player auction, with each team making key acquisitions.

UP Warriorz made significant moves during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 player auction, acquiring Australia captain Sophie Molineux for INR 1.10 crore. They also welcomed back Grace Harris for her base price of INR 30 lakh, along with Asha Shobna at the same price after she was released last year.
Molineux drew interest from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but they withdrew at INR 1.05 crore due to budget constraints. Harris, who played for UP Warriorz in 2023 before winning the title with RCB in 2026, strengthens the Warriorz’s roster further, which also includes India allrounder Sneh Rana and experienced wicketkeeper Sushma Verma, both signed for INR 30 lakh.
In the bidding wars, Delhi Capitals secured Kiran Navgire following a competitive exchange with Mumbai Indians, who ultimately bowed out at INR 70 lakh. Gujarat Giants picked up wicketkeeper-batter G Kamalini and allrounder Orla Prendergast, the latter becoming the first Irish player in the WPL.
Mumbai Indians had the smallest budget of INR 90 lakh, managing three low-cost signings at INR 10 lakh each: left-arm spinner Bharti Rawal, batter Disha Kasat, and wicketkeeper Latika Inamdar. They also added uncapped batter Saanika Chalke for INR 10 lakh and signed Shweta Sehrawat from UP Warriorz.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who had been quiet during the auction, finally secured Australian allrounder Jess Jonassen for INR 40 lakh. They also brought in two Indian players who had gone unsold initially, signing Vrinda Dinesh and Tejal Hasabnis.
Among the Associate players, Scotland’s Kathryn Bryce and Kirstie Gordon attracted early bids, with Bryce joining UP Warriorz and Gordon going to Delhi Capitals, both for INR 10 lakh. The fifth edition of the WPL will commence on January 14, featuring matches at the Cricket Club of India and Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
