WhatsApp users can now initiate group calls with up to 31 participants

WhatsApp has increased the number of participants allowed in group calls from 15 to 31. The update is currently rolling out to beta testers and is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks.

To initiate a group call with up to 31 participants, users simply need to open a group chat and tap the video call icon. They can then select the participants they want to add to the call and tap the “Call” button.

WhatsApp has also made some minor changes to the calls tab in the update. The “Call links” section has been removed and the floating action button has been updated with a plus icon.

The increase in the number of participants allowed in group calls is a welcome change for WhatsApp users. It will allow users to make group calls with all of their friends and family members, even if they are in different locations.

Here are some of the benefits of increasing the number of participants allowed in WhatsApp group calls:

  • It allows for larger and more inclusive group calls.
  • It can be useful for remote work and collaboration.
  • It can be used for social gatherings and events.
  • It can be used for educational purposes.

However, it is important to note that there are also some potential drawbacks to increasing the number of participants in group calls:

  • It can be difficult to manage and coordinate large group calls.
  • There is a greater risk of background noise and interruptions.
  • It can be more difficult to focus on the conversation.

Overall, the increase in the number of participants allowed in WhatsApp group calls is a positive change. It will give users more flexibility and allow them to make group calls with more people.
