Udaipur’s Rudrakshi Singh Becomes First Woman from City to Get Commission in Army’s JAG Branch

Udaipur, March 11, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : Udaipur’s daughter Rudrakshi Singh Inda has brought pride to the Lake City by receiving a commission in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) branch of the Indian Army. She was commissioned as a Lieutenant on March 7, 2026, after completing her training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.

Rudrakshi is considered the first woman from Udaipur to be commissioned in the Army’s JAG branch. On her arrival in Udaipur on Wednesday, she received a warm and grand welcome from members of the local community and the hotel association.

Her elder family member Shakti Singh said it is a matter of great pride for the family and the hotel association that Rudrakshi will serve the nation as a woman officer in the Indian Army.

Rudrakshi completed her B.Com LLB from the University College of Law, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, where she passed with first division. She later pursued LLM in Intellectual Property Rights and Management from National Law University, Delhi.

Before joining the Army, she worked as a research associate, legal advisor and teacher, while also preparing for various central and state government competitive examinations. She had earlier received a recommendation for the Indian Navy, but narrowly missed the final selection.

After persistent efforts, she finally secured a recommendation for the Indian Army in her seventh attempt and achieved All India Rank 4 in the JAG merit list in 2025. She then completed 11 months of training at OTA Chennai, after which she was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the JAG department.

During her arrival in Udaipur, members of the Hotel Association felicitated her. Those present included association president Sudarshan Dev Singh Karohi, senior vice-president Rajesh Agrawal, secretary Usha Sharma, and members Shakti Singh, Vikas Porwal, Manohar Singh Chauhan, Mandeep Singh Chauhan, Om Paliwal, Ajay Singh Krishnavat, Deepak Jangid and Mahipal Singh.

Interestingly, several foreign tourists visiting Udaipur also interacted with Rudrakshi Singh after learning about her achievement and clicked photographs with her, congratulating her for the remarkable accomplishment.
