New Delhi, February 13: The UAE secured a victory against Canada in the 20th match of the T20 World Cup 2026, winning by five wickets. This win places the UAE fourth in the Group D points table.
Winning the toss, Canada opted to bat first and scored 150 runs, losing 7 wickets in the process. They struggled early, losing three wickets for just 38 runs. Harsh Thakkar then partnered with Navneet Dhaliwal to build a crucial fourth-wicket partnership, scoring 58 runs off 47 balls.
Navneet contributed 34 runs from 28 balls, hitting four boundaries before getting out. Harsh continued his innings, scoring 50 runs off 41 balls, including three sixes and two fours, while Shreyas Mowwa added 21 runs. Captain Dilpreet Bajwa chipped in with 11 runs, but no other batsman reached double figures. On the bowling side, Junaid Siddiqui took five wickets for 35 runs in four overs, while Muhammad Jawadullah claimed one wicket.
In response, the UAE chased down the target in 19.4 overs. They lost captain Muhammad Wasim early for just 4 runs. Aryansh Sharma then formed a partnership with Alishan Sharafu, adding 29 runs for the second wicket off 27 balls. However, the UAE found themselves in trouble at 66 runs, having lost four wickets.
Aryansh, with a stellar performance, scored 74 runs off 53 balls, hitting three sixes and six fours, while Shoaib Khan supported him with a quick 51 runs off 29 balls, also hitting four sixes and four fours. On the bowling front for Canada, Saad Bin Zafar took three wickets for 14 runs, while Kaleem and Jasarkaran Singh each took one wicket.
