Reliance Power Rises as Subsidiary Wins 750 MW/3,000 MWh Renewable Energy Project from SJVN

Mumbai, November 12 (Udaipur Kiran): Shares of Reliance Power edged higher on Tuesday after its wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance NU Energies, secured a 750 MW/3,000 MWh Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project from SJVN. The stock was trading at Rs. 41.31, up by 0.44% from its previous close of Rs. 41.13 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 40.70 and touched an intraday high of Rs. 41.75 and a low of Rs. 39.95, with over 59.9 lakh shares changing hands. The company’s market capitalisation currently stands at Rs. 16,882.22 crore.

Reliance Power’s 52-week high is Rs. 76.49 (recorded on June 11, 2025), while its 52-week low stands at Rs. 31.30 (recorded on March 3, 2025). The promoters hold 24.98% stake in the company, with institutional investors owning 16.82% and non-institutional shareholders 58.18%.

The newly secured FDRE project will deliver dispatchable renewable peaking power to DISCOMs through a hybrid configuration comprising around 900 MWp of solar generation integrated with over 3,000 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity. A 750 MW/3,000 MWh system enables battery energy to provide power backup for up to two hours, ensuring grid stability and reliability.

With this win, the Reliance Group’s renewable portfolio now exceeds 4 GWp of solar capacity and 6.5 GWh of BESS capacity across four ongoing tenders in various stages of development and execution.
