Udaipur, March 20, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Dr. Ashwin Mahesh Dalvi assumed charge as Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre on Thursday for a tenure of three years.

Dr. Dalvi has previously served as Chairman of Lalit Kala Akademi, Rajasthan, with the status of a state minister. A noted surbahar player from the Etawah gharana and a disciple of Pandit Arvind Parikh, he has earned recognition through performances on prestigious national and international platforms. He is also the son of late renowned art guru Mahesh Dalvi.
Furqan Khan, Director of North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, who was holding additional charge of the West Zone Cultural Centre, formally handed over the responsibilities to Dr. Dalvi and welcomed him at the office. Officials and staff of the centre were present on the occasion.
With Dr. Dalvi taking over, expectations are high that the activities of the West Zone Cultural Centre will gain new direction and momentum.
The West Zone Cultural Centre is responsible for promoting cultural activities across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, and the Union Territories of Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
