Bengaluru, October 25 (Udaipur Kiran): Kannada actress and Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Divya Suresh has been identified as the key accused in a hit-and-run case that took place in Bengaluru’s Byatarayanapura area on October 4. The incident, which occurred around 1:30 AM, left three people injured, one of them seriously.
According to police, 34-year-old Anita suffered a fractured leg, while two others travelling with her on the bike escaped with minor injuries. The group was reportedly on their way to a hospital when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding car, which fled the scene immediately after the collision.
A CCTV video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the car ramming into the bike and speeding away, as the victims fell to the ground in pain. Witnesses at the scene later identified Divya Suresh as the driver of the car, a fact that has been confirmed by police.
Bengaluru Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Sections 281 and 125(A) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 134(A), 134(B), and 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The FIR notes that the accident occurred when a car coming from the Byatarayanapura Police Station side collided with a motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction.
Police officials said Divya Suresh is currently occupied with a film shooting project, but she will soon be summoned for questioning.
The victims’ family stated that despite Anita’s severe injuries, Divya Suresh has not contacted them since the incident. Doctors have advised Anita prolonged rest due to the fracture.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the victims had cried for help after the crash, but the car did not stop. Police arrived shortly after and rushed Anita to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and Divya Suresh will be taken into custody for interrogation soon.
