New Delhi, December 2 – The Indian Premier League 2026 mini auction will be held on December 16 in Abu Dhabi. A total of 1,355 players have registered for the mini auction. There are 77 slots available, of which 31 are for overseas players. The highest base price in the auction is Rs 2 crore, with 45 players registering in this category, including two Indian players.
Two Indian players have registered with a base price of Rs 2 crore – all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer and spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Venkatesh Iyer was the third most expensive player in the previous season when KKR bought him for Rs 23.75 crore. However, Iyer’s performance was ordinary, leading KKR to release him before the auction.
Ravi Bishnoi had been part of LSG since IPL 2022. His performance in IPL 2025 did not meet expectations, which is why the team did not retain him for the next season.
Both Iyer and Bishnoi have good overall records in the IPL, making them likely to fetch big prices in the auction.
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has also registered in the Rs 2 crore base price category and may attract significant bidding. Green has scored a century in the IPL. He did not participate in the previous auction due to a back injury. This time, there could be competition between KKR and CSK to include him in their teams.
Kolkata Knight Riders (Rs 64.3 crore purse) and Chennai Super Kings (Rs 43.4 crore) are entering as the wealthiest franchises in the auction. KKR will try to fill Russell’s gap by including Green in the team, as Russell recently bid farewell to the IPL. KKR might also bid for Iyer again.
Apart from these three, other players with Rs 2 crore base price who may attract big bids include Jake Fraser-McGurk, Liam Livingstone, Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, and Wanindu Hasaranga.
The complete list of Rs 2 crore base price players includes: Ravi Bishnoi, Venkatesh Iyer, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen Ul Haq, Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Cooper Connolly, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis, Steve Smith, Mustafizur Rahman, Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Tom Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Dan Lawrence, Liam Livingstone, Tymal Mills, Jamie Smith, Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Will O’Rourke, Rachin Ravindra, Gerald Coetzee, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Enrique Nortje, Riley Russo, Tabraiz Shamsi, David Wiese, Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana, Maheesh Theekshana, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, and Alzarri Joseph.
