The Honor 200 series has received a new update in India. It offers core features that leverage artificial intelligence (AI), such as AI eraser and personal translation. According to Honor, the latest update, called MR2, also integrates with Google’s September 2024 security patch and brings security improvements that the tech giant has rolled out to Android users. It also brings performance and security improvements to Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro.
Software update for Honor 200 series
Honor says the latest MR2 software update brings several new features to the Honor 200 series devices. It includes the most important functions of artificial intelligence. One of the additions mentioned above is AI Eraser, which, as the name suggests, allows you to remove unwanted objects, text or background elements from your photos. It is intended to take advantage of Google Cloud’s artificial intelligence.
The Chinese smartphone maker is also adding a personal translation to the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro. It supports voice and text input and provides real-time translation for multiple languages. The MR2 update also includes security improvements related to USB connections. When the phone is connected to a PC or other compatible device via USB, user authentication is now required when switching from charging to data transfer mode.
The company says users can now save a mix of apps in split-screen mode as home screen icons for quick access on the Honor 200 series.
How to get updates
According to the company, the new update of the Honor 200 MR2 series will be available to all users by September 13th. To download the update, users need to go to “System & Updates” in their smartphone’s settings and tap “Software Update.” If you select the “Check for updates” option, your device will check for pending updates.
