HLL Lifecare Celebrates 60 Years of Service in Healthcare

Thiruvananthapuram, May 18: The Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Poonam Salila Srivastava, addressed an event in Thiruvananthapuram marking the 60th anniversary of HLL Lifecare Limited. She highlighted the organization’s significant contributions to the healthcare sector since its establishment in 1966.

HLL Lifecare has played a crucial role in public health, engaging in various initiatives including national family planning, healthcare product innovation, diagnostics, and infrastructure development.

Secretary Srivastava stated that HLL Lifecare has effectively fulfilled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for health, consistently prioritizing public health. She emphasized that HLL Lifecare has met the expectations set by the Prime Minister.

The organization has identified existing discrepancies in the healthcare sector and has worked diligently to address them, ensuring that there are no flaws in the health system. The efforts made by HLL Lifecare to improve patients’ lives are commendable.

Additionally, she highlighted the organization’s contributions during Operation Sindoor, noting its critical role in delivering health supplies to essential locations during this sensitive time. HLL Lifecare’s efforts in states like Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir during Operation Sindoor have been exemplary, showcasing how an organization can perform under challenging circumstances.

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between HLL Lifecare and prestigious institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. The aim is to promote collaborative research, advance healthcare innovation, and accelerate the development of the latest technologies to meet India’s public health needs.

Furthermore, the Union Health Secretary inaugurated the upgraded menstrual cup manufacturing facility at HLL’s Akkulam factory in Thiruvananthapuram.
