Pushkar, November 4 (Udaipur Kiran) — Hindustan Zinc Limited has brought the vibrant spirit of Rajasthan to life at the ongoing Pushkar Fair 2025 through its exclusive cultural zone, ‘Zinc Ri Dhani’, which has become a major attraction for both Indian and foreign visitors. The zone, located at Shilpgram, has been open to the public since November 2 and offers a grand celebration of local art, cuisine, and heritage.
The inauguration ceremony at Shilpgram was attended by Suresh Singh Rawat (MLA, Pushkar), District Collector Lokbandhu, Additional District Collector Jyoti Kakwani, and Nirmalendu Kumar, SBU Director, Kayad Mines, Hindustan Zinc, among others.
Hindustan Zinc, proud to partner with the Government of Rajasthan for the Pushkar Mahotsav 2025, has enhanced the fair’s cultural landscape by supporting local artists and craftsmen through beautifully designed stalls and exhibits that showcase the richness of Rajasthan’s traditional arts and crafts.
Celebration of Local Art and Heritage
‘Zinc Ri Dhani’ offers an immersive experience of Rajasthan’s cultural essence — featuring mehndi art, face painting, bioscope shows, puppet performances, and even a serene meditation zone. The area also highlights Hindustan Zinc’s flagship CSR initiatives, including Sakhi and Micro Enterprise programs, which empower women-led self-help groups to display and sell their handmade products.
Empowering Women Through ‘Sakhi’
The Sakhi stalls have become a major draw for visitors, featuring successful brands like ‘Upaya’ (premium apparel) and ‘Daichi’ (gourmet food products). Both brands represent the growing strength of women entrepreneurship in rural India, bringing the art, craft, and taste of the countryside to mainstream markets while creating sustainable livelihoods for women.
Through its Sakhi program, Hindustan Zinc has empowered over 25,455 rural women across Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, organizing them into 2,167 self-help groups (SHGs). The initiative has also set up 14 production units and 208 stores, creating new opportunities for rural women and contributing significantly to the local economy.
Cultural Performances Add Festive Charm
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Hindustan Zinc, in collaboration with the local administration, hosted a Cultural and Bollywood Night, featuring celebrated singers Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonali Rathod, whose soulful performances enthralled the audience. Additionally, the Uthori Manch group staged a street play (nukkad natak) focusing on women’s empowerment and social awareness.
Senior company officials, including Nirmalendu Kumar, SBU Director, Kayad Mine, were present during the event, underscoring Hindustan Zinc’s ongoing commitment to preserving culture, promoting local talent, and empowering communities.
