New Delhi, November 8 (Udaipur Kiran) — The upcoming 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R has started arriving at dealerships across India, signalling an imminent launch by Hero MotoCorp. The new version of Hero’s sporty commuter gets fresh styling updates and feature enhancements, while retaining the same mechanical underpinnings.

🏍️ Updated Design and Styling
The 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R showcases a sharper and more aggressive design, taking cues from the larger Xtreme 250R. The motorcycle continues with a muscular fuel tank and body lines but now features:
A redesigned LED headlamp with a sleeker profile
New graphics and a refreshed paint scheme
A single-piece seat setup
Full LED lighting all around
These changes lend the Xtreme 160R a more premium and sport-oriented appearance compared to the outgoing model.
⚙️ New Features and Technology
One of the biggest upgrades in the 2026 model is the introduction of ride-by-wire (electronic throttle) technology — a first in this segment. This system enables the addition of Cruise Control, a feature that Hero has recently begun integrating across its updated lineup, including the Glamour X and Xtreme 125R.
The cruise control switch is located on the right-hand switchgear, while the left-hand cluster gets new controls for the fully digital color LCD display, the same unit used in the Xtreme 250R and Glamour X.
Key features include:
Bluetooth connectivity
Turn-by-turn navigation
Multiple ride modes
Dual-channel ABS
🔩 Engine and Performance
Under the tank, the 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R continues to be powered by the familiar 163.2cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, producing 16.6 bhp and 14.6 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle retains its same tyre sizes and fuel tank capacity, suggesting that Hero has focused more on improving technology and refinement rather than performance changes.
Interestingly, while the new Xtreme 125R and Glamour X have shifted to a USB Type-C charging port, the Xtreme 160R continues with the Type-A port.
🛞 Expected Launch and Pricing
With the bike already reaching dealerships, Hero MotoCorp is expected to announce pricing soon. The 2026 Xtreme 160R could see a slight premium over the outgoing model, placing it around the ₹1.40 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
Once launched, the motorcycle will compete against the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160, and Suzuki Gixxer 155.
