Calling a Zambia a trusted friend, Prime Minister emphasised on that bilateral ties between the two nations date back to 1960s. The countries share similar democratic values.
A total of six MoUs were signed between India and Zambia expanding the range of bilateral cooperation to various fields including defence, arts & culture, education.The inked MoUs included one MoU between the Ministeries of Mines:
An MoU was also signed between the Electoral Commission of Zambia, and the Ministry of External Affairs, India.
In its bid to promote renewable energy, and aid the farming sector India will provide Zambia with 100 solar irrigation pumps.
Earlier in the day, Zambian President Lungu received a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, followed by a visit to the RajGhat. President Lungu also participated in an India-Zambia Business Event. He called on President Kovind later in the evening.
