In a major breakthrough in the fight against terror in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have eliminated Zakir Musa, the chief of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a group affiliated with Al-Qaeda. Musa was killed in an encounter in a village in South Kashmir’s Tral. His body was recovered on Friday morning.
Musa was eliminated in the same area in Pulwama where in 2016 the security forces had eliminated Hijbul commander Burhan Wani. Security agencies had been for a long time on the hunt for Musa. He was also involved in many attacks on the forces in the valley. Experts opine that this is a major breakthrough for the security forces.
An all-out operation was started by the security forces and they got successive breakthroughs in their fight against terror. The operation got more momentum after the Pulwama attack. The efforts of the security forces have dented the nefarious designs of the terrorists in J&K.
