Udaipur : In order to evade a police arrest, a youth jumped into a 100 feet well and sustained injuries on Tuesday in Khandel village under Kunwariya Lapasya Panchayat of Rajsamand district. Taken aback by the accused’s action, the police team that was chasing the youth, fled from the spot. Later locals who heard the youth’s cries pulled him out of the well and took him to the hospital. Satyanarayan a 30 year old resident of Khandel village is an accused in a girl elopement case lodged with the Bhinay police station in Ajmer.

A cop from Ajmer had come to look for Satyanarayan and the Kunwariya police team had gone to Khandel village in his search. The accused fled to save himself from the cops and jumped into a deep well. Luckily the water level was not high and thus Satyanarayan didn’t drown. Shocked by the incident, instead of pulling him out of the well, the cops ran away. Villagers who happened to pass by later pulled out the accused and took him to the hospital for treatment. Sources claimed the Kunwariya police didn’t report the incident even to the higher authorities till late night.
