WhatsApp Chats to Auto-Delete: Activate This Feature!

WhatsApp introduces a simple method for auto-deleting chats, effective from July 26, 2026. Users can easily activate this feature for enhanced privacy.

WhatsApp introduces disappearing messages feature, enhancing user privacy during chats.

To enable Disappearing Messages, open the chat, tap on the profile, select Disappearing Messages, and set the time. New messages will then auto-delete.

Old messages will remain unaffected after the feature is activated; only new messages sent post-activation will disappear based on the selected time.

While disappearing messages enhance privacy, users can still take screenshots or capture images from another phone.

In groups where admin settings allow, any member can initiate activities; otherwise, only admins have access.

To disable the Disappearing Messages feature, open the chat, go to the profile, and toggle the feature off. New messages will then not disappear.

The feature allows users to discuss personal or important matters securely without leaving a permanent chat history. It is particularly useful for private conversations.
