
West Central Railway will change the Tatkal ticket booking process from August 1 to reduce crowding and streamline reservations at counters.
From August 1, new rules will allow earlier token issuance for Tatkal tickets, with AC tokens available from 8:30-9:00 AM and Non-AC from 9:00-9:30 AM.
Railways has set a token limit for each reservation counter: 10 tokens for AC Tatkal tickets and 15 tokens for Non-AC Tatkal tickets.
New rules state that priority for Tatkal ticket booking will be given to passengers booking for themselves or family members, requiring valid documents to prove the relationship.
The new token system will eliminate the need for passengers to repeatedly visit reservation counters for Tatkal tickets, ensuring orderly wait times and reducing crowding at counters.

Passengers applying for Tatkal tickets are advised to bring an Aadhaar card or valid photo ID. Preparing travel details in advance can expedite the booking process.
