Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu held delegation level talks with President of Comoros, Azali Assoumani.
India and Comoros signed MoU on Defence Cooperation besides inking important agreements on Health and Culture. Both sides have also decided to exempt each other from Visa requirement for the holders of diplomatic and official passport for short visits. It is to be noted that Comorian citizens have already been granted e-visa facility by Govt of India. The Vice President also said that being maritime neighbours, India and Comoros have excellent scope for cooperation and enhancing our defence ties, especially in the maritime domain.
Vice President Naidu also said that the two countries share friendly and cordial relations which are historical. He added that both countries face similar challenges and have identical views on important, regional and global issues. The Vice President added that there can be no justification for any act of terrorism irrespective of motivations.
