The books are collection of 95 of his selected speeches out of a total of 243 speeches made by the President in the first year of his office.
They have been divided into 8 sections.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said that the valuable collection of speeches by the President captures India’s rich cultural mosaic and diversity while adding that the President has often asked for empathy, fraternity, mutual dignity and generosity of spirit during his speeches.
The Vice President also congratulated the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Publications Division, for bringing out these titles with a beautiful layout and design, that speaks to the young and old alike.
In her speech, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, President Kovind’s knowledge and command over diverse topics shine through his speeches.
She said, President Kovind is able to infuse the depth of knowledge inherited from country’s ancient past in his speeches.
Addressing the gathering, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore expressed pride that India’s leadership comes from the grassroot levels.
He said, it is one of the proudest moments to be able to publish the President’s speeches and preserve them.
In his welcome address, Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Amit Khare said the President’s speeches reflect his simplicity and humility while adding that his words will eternally serve as a beacon of light for not only the policy-makers of the country, but also for the civilians alike.
Speaking on the occasion, Prasar Bharati Chairman A Surya Prakash said the President’s speeches bespeak about his deep concern for fellow citizens while adding that President’s words carry the true essence of the Indian constitution.
The building blocks of this book are equality, egalitarianism and education.
The book has been conceived to help the readers navigate through the vision and thought that the President delves upon, especially with relation to the vision of nation and individual citizen’s duty towards the nation.
