Delivering a lecture on ” Nepal, India and Neighbourhood:The Promise of Economic Reforms, Innovation and Connectivity” in Kathmandu this evening, Dr. Kumar said India is entering into a period where double digit growth could be achieved.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has insisted on converting development into a mass movement and first time leadership and people of the country have realized the importance of participative development.
Dr. Kumar said that Prime Minister Modi is inordinately committed to improve relationship with the neighbourhood. Dr. Kumar said that India Nepal relations are age old and there is huge potential to further enhance it.
He said NITI Aayog has started Atal Innovation Mission to inculcate innovative spirit among students and two thousand Atal Tinkering Labs have been established in schools. Dr. Kumar suggested that similar labs can also be set up in Nepali schools.
He said significant efforts are being made to increase connectivity with Nepal. The lecture was organised by Institute for Integrated Development Studies, Kathmandu University and Barbara Foundation.
