It was a day of political irony and intrigue in Maharashtra. Both Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar who were sworn in as chief minister and deputy chief minister just three days ago in extraordinary circunstances, resigned from their posts.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray was elected as the leader of alliance at the Maha-aghadi meeting. Apart from the support of Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena, Thackeray also received the support of other small parties.
The Shiv Sena chief is likely to take oath on December 1st.
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has called a special session of the Legislative
Assembly on Wednesday.
