Udaipur rly stn gets mechanized laundry facility 

‘First facility under Ajmer Rly division’

Udaipur : In the series of extension of facilities for railway passengers, installation and commissioning of 1.5 ton per shift mechanized laundrywas done at Udaipur city station on Saturday, to cater the requirement of linen washing. “The average requirement of linen washing is 2.7 ton and and the laundry will run in 2 shifts and will cater to the complete requirement. In case if any further increased in demand the plant will be run in three shifts or by augmenting with more machines” informed DRM Puneet Chawla.

The  installation and commission work of the facility  has been done by M/s super shine laundry system Private Limited Gurgaon. The total cost of the work is 1.77 crore approx for supply installation and commissioning of laundry machine.It can be used to wash 3000 bed roll sets daily.

” Presently,  the load of washing linen of 5 pair of trains out of 7 have been entrusted to the new laundry with washing 2300 bedrolls. A proposal for installation commissioning and operation of 5 ton per shift capacity mechanize laundering on boot model at Madar station at Ajmer has been sent to Railway Board” Chawla said. Ajmer division is trying to extend touch and feel effect for passengers by providing good quality linen. For this mechanised washed and packed linen is supplied in coaches of train to obtain proper hygiene and this service is being provided by outsourcing of mechanized cleaning of linen. Presently, Jaipur, Bikaner and Jodhpur railway stations have the mechanized laundry facilities.
