The New India Assurance Company slips on reporting net loss of Rs 271 crore in Q4

New India Assurance Company is currently trading at Rs. 165.25, down by 7.55 points or 4.37% from its previous closing of Rs. 172.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 170.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 170.00 and Rs. 163.50 respectively. So far 7160 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 382.13 on 30-May-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 165.00 on 14-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 183.80 and Rs. 163.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 27192.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 85.44%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.59% and 0.98% respectively.

The New India Assurance Company has reported a net loss of Rs 270.52 crore for the ended March 31, 2019 against net profit of Rs 335.96 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 8.41% at Rs 6,570.11 crore for Q4FY19 as compared Rs 6,060.47 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

For the year ended March 31, 2019, the company has reported a fall of 73.66 % in its net profit at Rs 579.79 crore as compared to Rs 2,200.92 crore for the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 8.68% at Rs 25,272.38 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 23,252.88 crore for year ended March 31, 2018.

For the year ended March 31, 2019, on the consolidated basis, the company has reported a fall of 72.38% in its net profit at Rs 604.77 crore as compared to Rs 2,189.22 crore for the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 8.74% at Rs 25,406.19 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 23,365.03 crore for year ended March 31, 2018.
