Tata Power declines on reporting 11% fall in Q2 consolidated net profit

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 57.40, down by 2.10 points or 3.53% from its previous closing of Rs. 59.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 61.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 61.00 and Rs. 56.60 respectively. So far 3181889 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 83.75 on 04-Dec-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 50.40 on 21-Aug-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 61.00 and Rs. 56.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 15579.50 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 36.21%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.05% and 15.67% respectively.

Tata Power Company has reported 41.74% fall in its net profit at Rs 154.61 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2019 as compared to Rs 265.37 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 5.93% at Rs 2114.28 crore for Q2FY20 as compared Rs 1995.99 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a fall of 10.82% in its net profit at Rs 350.81 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 393.36 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 5.98% at Rs 7904.03 crore for Q2FY20 as compared Rs 7458.01 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
