The Board in a statement on Thursday evening said government of Pakistan in a letter sent to the board has assured that Pakistan Army will coordinate the security arrangements and security protocol will be compatible to a Head of State.
The clarification came as the board had received threats for the tour and requested Sri Lankan government for security assessment but the board today said no information has been received by the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Pakistan, indicating a threat to the Sri Lanka team.
Earlier, 10 players of Sri Lankan team including veterans like Angelo Mathews and Lasith Malinga had opted out of the tour in view of security threats.
Sri Lankan cricket team had faced terrorist attack during its Pakistan tour in 2009 and has since refrained from a full-fledged tour.
Sri Lanka team is expected to leave on 23rd September to play three ODIs and three T20 games.
