Southern Naval Command commemorates 70th Constitution Day

Several units and training establishments, such as INS Shivaji. INS Dronacharaya and INS Chilka, also undertook activities such as walkathons and station run on the occasion.

A special session for students of Navy Children School at Kochi and Kendriya Vidyalaya, INS Shivaji at Lonavala was conducted during the morning assembly, to reiterate to them the principles enshrined in the Constitution and remind them of their duties as citizens of India. 

Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated across the country on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India on this day in 1949 by the Constituent Assembly of India. The Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950.
