While Shraddha Arya is going great guns professionally, all is not well on the personal front. The actress was in the news for her engagement to Jayant, an NRI, in October 2015. Two years later, there is no development on that front. In fact, buzz was that she called off the engagement soon after. Unwilling to divulge much, she tells us, “Though I am not in touch with him, I haven’t called off the engagement. I don’t intend to be impulsive and take a hasty decision. I will wait to see if things work out between us. Our equation is not too smooth at the moment and even my parents want me to marry someone who will be a positive influence on my journey. I am not thinking about marriage currently.”
At the moment, she has focussed all her energies on work. Her latest outing sees her as the protagonist in the TV show, ‘Kundali Bhagya’. So, was she apprehensive about being compared to Sriti Jha, who played the heroine in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, of which ‘Kundali Bhagya’ is a spin-off? “That didn’t cross my mind when I took up the project. Comparisons are bound to happen; all of us wait for the ratings every Thursday. My show ‘Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki’ and Sriti’s ‘Saubhagyavati Bhava’ launched at the same time. I admired her work on the show. She is a friend, a great performer and a natural actor so, I don’t mind if I am compared with her. It’s healthy competition and I take it in my stride,” she replies.
