Sharp dip in SKorea Covid cases after 10 weeks

Seoul, April 18 : South Korea witnessed a 10-week low in new cases of coronavirus on Monday as number of Omicron cases receded amid the administration’s move to lift most pandaemic-related restrictions. The virus peaked at 621,178 cases on March 17, and it has since been steadily dipping. Even a week back, the tally was 90,917. The overall toll is 21,224, with 132 new deaths. The government said it will decide whether to lift the outdoor mask mandate after closely monitoring trends over next two weeks. ING
