Security forces kill seven Naxals in Odihsa, Chhattisgarh

Five Naxals have been killed in an encounter with Odisha’s special operations group in Koraput district of Odisha. There were two men and five women amongst those killed.

The encounter took place in a forest under Padua police station limits in the morning when personnel of the Special Operations Group and District Voluntary Force were conducting a combing operation in the area.

The Naxals fired at the SOG and DVF men after noticing them and the security personnel retaliated the fire, killing them.

Chhattisgarh: 2 Naxal killed in encounter with police in Dantewada  

In neighbouring Chhattisgarh, 2 Naxals were killed in an encounter in Dantewada. The face-off took place around 5 am at a forest in Gonderas village when a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) was out on an anti-Maoist operation.
