SAIL surges on the bourses

SAIL is currently trading at Rs. 49.85, up by 0.65 points or 1.32% from its previous closing of Rs. 49.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 48.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 49.85 and Rs. 48.45 respectively. So far 314899 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 84.35 on 25-Jun-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 44.10 on 11-Feb-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 50.80 and Rs. 46.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 20342.84 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.05% and 5.95% respectively.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has decided to supply 13.5 lakh tonne (LT) of rails to Indian Railways in the current financial year. The company has been supplying fewer rails against the order placed by the Railways for the last four financial years. In 2018-19, the company has supplied 9.68 LT rails as against the demand of 14 LT.

SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
