During the occassion, the President said that institutions like IIT roorkee are not just education centres rather hubs of creative ideas and innovations, which will help country to achieve it’s national goals and address the larger concerns of humanity.
He said that we must nurture innovation and creativity. He added in the long-term, our success lies in developing a culture of enterprise and ideas.
Union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that the country will soon have New Education Policy, which will for the first time include teaching of human values. He added that the new policy will impact our social, economic and cultural life. He said that IIT roorkee is one of the oldest Technical Institution of Asia, it is on it’s way to attain educational excellence at global level and will create a sustainable society through it’s innovative research in science & technology.
