Portals of Kedarnath Temple reopens for public

In Uttarakhand, the Char Dham yatra has begun, as the portal of Gangotri and Yamunotri opened for the pilgrims after winter.

The portals of Kedarnath Temple reopened for public on Thursday. The idol of Lord Shiva was moved out of his winter abode at Ukhi-math’s Omkareshwar Temple on May 6. Kedarnath Temple is visited by lakhs of tourists and devotees every year from across the country and abroad. It is closed during winter season, when it is snowbound.

Badrinath Shrine will reopen on Friday.
