At the Global Trade show Prime Minister Modi visited various pavilions and showed keen interest in the stalls of ISRO, DRDO, Khadi and the MSME Pavillion.
The trade show highlights Prime Minister Modi's vision of Make in India with an apt tagline of 'From Charkha to Chandrayaan'.
The Global trade show is spread over an area of 200,000 sq. Mts, with more than 25 industrial and business sectors showcasing their ideas, products and designs under one umbrella here. It has both national and International pavillions.
Later addressing a gathering in Ahmedabad, Prime Minister said small and medium industries are key to the nations's prosperity.
Next it was the turn of the Ahmedabad Shopping festival. It is being organised for the first time. Once again the aim is to provide a platform to small and medium enterprises.
The Modi govt's commitment to digital India was on display with Prime Minister Modi transacting digitally while making a purchase at one of the stall. He hailed GST for encouraging a honest business environment. Prime Minister also said that the GST council is sensitive to the needs of small business and has been taking decisions in their interest.
Prime Minister described the GEM platform as a boon for small entrepenuers. He listed several other steps taken by his government for MSMEs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also unveiled a statue of space scientist Vikram Sarabhai on the Ahmedabad Riverfront. 2019 is his birth centenary year. He described Sarabhai as an inspiration for the youth
Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit was conceptualized in 2003 by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi. And on Thursday he went back as Prime Minister to inaugurate platforms like the Ahmedabad Shopping festival and the Vibrant Gujarat Trade Show in his effort to build a vibrant New India.
