The library has been built with the Indian assistance of NRs. (Neplai Rupees) 43.94 million. PM Oli expressed gratitude towards Govt. of India for constructing the library.
On this occasion Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri said that library will be an important platform to further enhance cultural ties between the two countries. The Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Uprety said that it will be one of the most important library of Nepal and further increase literary and cultural exchanges between India and Nepal.
The newly built three-storylibrary would provide research and reference facilities to the researchers and academicians. It also has an advanced offset press facility for printing of books. The library has been built as part of India’s development partnership programme.
The Government of India is providing technical and financial assistance for the multi-sectoral development of Nepal. More than 500 projects have been undertaken so farfocusing on infrastructure development and capacity building in the areas of Education, Health, Roads and Bridges, Electrification, Railways and Cross Borer linkages.
