PM Modi witness E-Gruha Pravesh of PMAY beneficiaries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfilling promises made to his sisters as a Raksha Bandhan gift. He handed over keys to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) from Valsad, Navsari, Tapi and Surat districts of South Gujarat. And the gifts didn’t stop there. He unveiled a plaque to mark the laying of the foundation stone for the Rs. 600 crore Astole Water Supply Scheme. This Project will ensure water supply to 175 Villages. 

The Prime Minister said that implementation of both schemes will empower villagers, poor and especially women. He said that he felt blessed at being able to hand over a special gift of homes and tap water supply to his sisters.

The Prime Minister also participated in a collective e-Gruhpravesh of beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin), interacting with them via video conference. 

Speaking to beneficiaries from across 26 districts including Rajkot and Porbandar, PM inquired about the availability of basic amenities like water supply, power connections, gas connections and toilets.

Prime Minister Modi hailed PM Awas Yojana as a shining example of a transparent scheme that left no room for middlemen. He said that the quality of construction goes to prove that there have been no leakages of funds or compromises of any sort.  

Prime Minister Modi also distributed skill certificates and employment letters to beneficiaries of the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramin Kaushal Vikas Yojana and job work orders under Mukhya Mantri Gramodaya Yojana. 

He also distributed appointment letters and Mini-ATMs to women Bank correspondents as well as certificates of grant of Commuity investment fund to village organizations as well as bank loans to self help groups under National Rural Livelihood Mission.  

Prime Minister stressed on empowering the poor in every possible manner. A target to ensure housing to all by 2022 has been set. Till now, one only heard about politicians getting their own homes, but now we can see the poor getting their own homes. 

From clean drinking water supply to power and gas connections and toilets, homes under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana ensure a better standard of living for the last man in the queue.
