PM Modi to launch National Animal Disease Control Prog in Mathura

In a key initiative aimed at doubling farmers income, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching the National Animal Disease Control Programme for eradicating Foot and Mouth Disease and Brucellosis in livestock from Mathura.

With 100 Percent funding from the Central Government of Rs 12,652 Crores for a period of five years till 2024, the programme aims at vaccinating over 500 Million Livestock against the Foot and Mouth Disease.

The programme also aims at vaccinating 36 Million Female Bovine Calves annually in its fight against the Bruce-llosis disease. The Programme has two components – to control the diseases by 2025 and their eradication by 2030.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shall also be launching the National Artificial Insemination Programme on Wednesday. He is also expected to launch simultaneously nationwide workshops in Krishi Vigyan Kendras in all 687 Districts of India on vaccination, disease management, artificial insemination and productivity.

During his visit to Mathura, the Prime Minister will also take part in the Swachhta Hi Seva Programme.

The launch of the National Animal Disease Control  Programme will herald the nation into a mission mode to save and nurture livestock, Indian farmers most valuable source of additional income.
