PM Modi to be conferred the Global Goalkeeper Award

In a solemn tribute to Bapu on his 150th birth anniversary, India has achieved the goal of becoming open defecation free.

Government of India’s flagship program, ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ has achieved a new milestone with making India Open Defecation Free.In a befitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, India becomes Open defecation free after over 70 years of Independence.

It all began in 2014, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Swachh Bharat mission as a nation-wide campaign promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation.

The movement launched by the Prime Minister has successfully achieved its goals, fulfilling the dream of Bapu.

Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to make cleanliness a mass movement will recieve global accolades when he receives the prestigious Goalkeepers award by the Bill-Melinda Gates fondation.

Swachh Bharat movement has been lauded globally with special mentions about PM Modi’s leadership. Launched in 2014, by Prime  Minister Modi with the vision of achieveing, ‘Swachh Bharat’ by October 2, 2019, the campaign became a people’s movement.

Since 2014, the government has constructed over 10 crore toilets. Around 6 lakh villages across 699 districts are now Open Defecation Free.

The journey of Swachh Bharat continues to set new goals for itself and achieve new heights.It now focuses on the management of dry and wet waste, plastic waste management.

PM Modi recently announced a mission to eradicate single use plastic by 2022. Cleanliness is a habit and Prime Minister Modi knows just that.

Leading by example, PM Modi bent to pick up a flower, which fell from the bouquet presented to him as he landed in Houston.

In April 2017 too, he was seen putting ribbon and paper into his pocket at a book launch, rather than leaving it for others to dispose off.
