PM Modi leaves for Bishkek to attend SCO Summit

A wide range of regional and global issues will be taken up for discussion with special focus on security, trade & investment as well as countering terrorism.

Also known as the Heads of State Council, the Bishkek summit is the first major multilateral engagement Prime Minister Modi is undertaking after being put back in office with resounding mandate by the country’s voters.

This is the second SCO summit after India become a full time member. Prime Minister Modi had also taken part in last year’s summit meet held in China’s Qingdao.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the SCO summit.

Prime Minister will also jointly address the first meeting of India-Kyrgyz Business Forum, an endeavour to promote commercial linkages between the two nations.
