PM Modi addresses rally in Arunachal

Addressing an election rally at Pasighat in the state, Prime Minister Modi said, for new Arunachal Pradesh, his vision, is connectivity, resources and respect.  Prime Minister said, every house in Arunachal Pradesh has been illuminated with electricity after 70 years of independence. 

Prime Minister said, his government never committed the sin of betraying farmers.  Prime Minister Modi said, his government introduced mechanism from seed to market and implemented PM KISAN scheme. Commenting on Congress manifesto Prime Minister Modi said, it should be called hypocrisy document, not a manifesto. 

Taking a jibe at the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Prime Minister Modi said in Siliguri rally she has put speed breaker in the path development of more than 70 lakh of farmer families in West Bengal.

The Congress Central Election Committee cleared the names of six candidates for contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Punjab and the lone seat in Chandigarh yesterday. 

All four sitting MPs, Sunil Jakhar, Santokh Singh Choudhary, Ravneet Bittu and Gurjit Aujla will be re-nominated from their segments. Former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal has been re-nominated from Chandigarh. Bansal had lost in 2014 to BJP’s Kirron Kher. 
In Assam, 19 candidates have filed nomination papers for the third phase of Lok Sabha polls. Guwahati, Barpeta, Dhubri and Kokrajhar seats will go to polls in this phase. NDA, Congress, AIUDF, CPI-M among others are in the fray in this phase. 

Meanwhile, campaigning has gained momentum in the areas where polling will be held in the first and second phase. 

Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sarbanand Sonowal and NEDA Chairman Himanta Biswa Sarma are also holding rallies at Lakhimpur and Tezpur today for the BJP candidates. Congress President Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address two rallies at Kaliabor and Lakhimpur today. 

Earlier Congress president addressed a public meeting at Dimapur in Nagaland.
