The 10th BRICS summit has started in Johannesburg and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in South Africa to attend it. The theme of this year’s Summit is BRICS in Africa: Collaboration with Developing Countries for Inclusive Growth and Shared Prosperity in the 4th Industrial Revolution”. The Prime minister will also hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.
Over the last decade, BRICS has grown into an important platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing countries.
Home to nearly 50% of the world’s population, BRICS countries generated 22.53% of the world GDP in 2015 and have contributed more than 50% of world economic growth during the last 10 years.
