PM Modi addresses Indian Community in France

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed an event of Indian community at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Enumerating his govt’s achievements, Prime Minister said that govt has taken various steps in the direction of health care and child protection.

Besides, govt has also launched drive to root out corruption from the country. Prime Minister said that government has launched a new ministry called the “Jal Shakti” to provide safe drinking water to people.

Govt has also taken step to end practice of triple talaq in the country. PM said that mandate given in recent Lok Sabha polls in country is not only aimed at running the government, but is meant realise the dream of a ”New India”, which can the lead the world in 21st century. Prime Minister said that the focus in this ”New India” is on Ease of Doing Business, and Ease of Living. 

Recalling his visit to France four years ago, prime MInister said that he had promised them that India is ready to begin a journey to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of people of the country. 

Prime Minister said that relationship between India and France is based on sound values. Both countries believe in shared values of ”Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity”.

PM said that both countries face similar challenges today. 

Foreign Secreatary Vijay Gokhale while speaking to media in Paris said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to France is satisfactory. He further added that PM Modi and his French counterpart Emmaneul Macron discussed range of issues from concerns over environment, terrorism to giving more impetus to Indo-French ties.

Gokhale also said that President Macron extended his support to India over the recent abrogation of Article 370 stating that it is completely India’s internal matter.
