Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, aim to provide social security to this uncovered segment of the population.
Be it urban areas or rural India, thousands of people and families are now being covered under these schemes.
Osmanabad district in Maharashtra generally has a dry climate with people having limited access to employment and other facilities as per the actual need.
But now, many are opting for Prime Minister social security schemes.
In the district, around 67000 people have been covered under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana at a premium of just 12 Rs per annum.
Similarly, about 22300 people have been covered under Jeevan Jyoti Yojana at a premium of Rs 330 per annum.
The schemes have lessened the worries of people who had no support or relief in the event of a sudden tragedy leading to the death or disability of a family member.
