Over 3lakh ppl pledge to vote in Banswara

Udaipur : Some 3.30 lakh people took oath to cast their franchise rights in this general election in Botswana. The initiative was taken by the district collectors Ashish Gupta who thought of a unique way to create awareness among the mass to ensure maximum participation on the polling day.

” Lakhs of persons participated in the MahaShapath Abhiyan that was held with the coordination of various departments including education, social welfare, agriculture, medical and Mahatma Gandhi NRega scheme etc wherein voters were made to pledge that they would cast their votes on April 29. The oath ceremonies were organized at various village, block levels in schools, colleges, community halls, panchayat bhawans, mills and even mining areas simultaneously at the same time everywhere. The best thing was we were able to sensitize awareness among more than 2 lakh labourers who are enrolled under NRega scheme at more that seven thousand project sites. People also collected at fair price shops and pledged to vote” the collector said.
